Placements24 is seeking a Precision Machining Technician in Randburg, Gauteng. You will operate CNC lathes and milling machines, interpret blueprints, select tooling, and perform in-process quality checks to ensure parts meet tight tolerances.

The role requires 4+ years of hands-on CNC experience, G-code programming skills, and a strong focus on quality control in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification or relevant certification in Machining or CNC Operations.
• Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience as a CNC Machinist or Precision Machining Technician.
• Proficiency in operating and setting up CNC lathes and milling machines.
• Strong ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and technical drawings.
• Experience with various G-code programming and machine operation.
• Familiarity with quality control procedures and precision measuring tools.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.
• Understanding of materials and tooling selection for machining.
• Flexibility to work shifts if required in Randburg, Gauteng.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machines (lathes, mills) for production runs.
• Read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and materials for machining operations.
• Perform in-process quality checks using precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, CMM).
• Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues to maintain quality and efficiency.
• Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines to ensure optimal performance.
• Program CNC machines or make necessary adjustments to existing programs.
• Collaborate with engineers and designers to optimize machining processes.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety standards.
