Job summary

Together Staffing Group seeks a skilled CNC Machinist for a plastic manufacturing operation in Gauteng. You will operate and set CNC milling and turning machines, read drawings, set tooling and cutting parameters, and perform in-process quality checks to ensure precision and efficiency.

You will collaborate with Toolmakers, Programmers, Production and Quality teams to minimise scrap and downtime while maintaining safe, clean work areas and conformance with engineering specifications.

Qualifications

• Matric
• Fitter Trade Test advantageous
• CNC machining qualification or relevant technical qualification
• Proven experience as a CNC Machinist in manufacturing
• Experience in plastics, tooling, injection moulding, or related industry advantageous
• Understanding of CNC machining processes and tooling
• Ability to read engineering drawings
• Experience with precision measuring equipment

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC milling and turning machines
• Set up machines, tooling, workpieces, and cutting parameters
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Perform in-process measurements and quality checks
• Make program adjustments where required to maintain product specifications
• Monitor machine performance and identify machining issues
• Perform routine machine checks and maintain a clean work area
• Minimise scrap and downtime through effective machine operation
• Work closely with Toolmakers, Programmers, Production, and Quality teams
