Placements24 is recruiting a Precision Machining Technician for a Bloemfontein-based facility serving the aerospace sector. You will operate and maintain multi-axis CNC milling and turning centers, perform complex setups, and conduct in-process inspections to ensure dimensional accuracy and material integrity.

The role demands 5+ years of hands-on experience, strong GD&T knowledge, and proficiency with G-code programming or editing.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in CNC machining, with emphasis on precision.
• Experience with multi-axis milling and turning centers.
• Ability to read GD&T, engineering drawings and specifications.
• Experience programming or editing CNC programs (G-code).
• Proficient with precision measurement tools including CMM.
• Familiar with aerospace materials (aluminum, titanium, stainless steel).
• Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and safety focus.
• Able to work independently and in a production team.
• Commitment to quality and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain CNC milling machines, lathes, and precision equipment.
• Perform complex setups with tooling, fixtures, and workholding.
• Read and interpret drawings, GD&T, and CAD models.
• Program CNC machines or edit existing programs (G-code).
• Monitor processes and adjust to ensure accuracy and finish.
• Conduct in-process quality inspections using precision instruments.
• Troubleshoot issues to minimize scrap and downtime.
• Maintain routine machine maintenance and lubrication.
• Keep a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Collaborate with engineering and quality teams on production and quality concerns.
