Placements24 is recruiting a Senior Cloud Security Engineer for a fully remote role within South Africa. You will design, implement, and manage security controls across AWS, Azure, and GCP, safeguarding client data and cloud infrastructure.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree in CS or Cybersecurity, 5+ years in cybersecurity with cloud focus, and hands-on experience with SIEM, IDS/IPS, WAF, vulnerability scanners, and DevSecOps.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field
• 5+ years of cybersecurity experience with a strong cloud focus
• In-depth knowledge of major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Experience with SIEM, IDS/IPS, WAF, and vulnerability scanners
• Scripting skills (Python, Bash) for automation
• IAM, network security, and data encryption understanding
• Kubernetes security experience is a plus
• CISSP/CCSP or cloud-specific certifications desirable
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and in remote teams

Responsabilidades

• Design, implement, and maintain security controls for cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Develop and enforce security policies for cloud infrastructure
• Conduct security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests
• Manage security monitoring, logging, and alerting systems
• Lead incident response for cloud security breaches and cyberattacks
• Ensure compliance with ISO 27001, GDPR and other standards
• Collaborate with DevOps to embed security in CI/CD (DevSecOps)
• Automate security tasks to improve efficiency
• Provide security guidance and training to technical teams
• Stay updated on cloud security threats and technologies
