Placements24 in Bloemfontein is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure for a fast-growing SaaS platform. You will shape the tech foundation, implement robust CI/CD pipelines, and drive security and performance across cloud environments.

You will collaborate with a skilled team, own critical infra components, and help us scale operations while adopting best practices in IaC, automation, and cloud-native architectures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 5 years in software engineering with cloud infrastructure and DevOps.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Proficient with Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiar with Jenkins, GitLab CI or CircleCI.
• Proficient in Python, Bash, or Go.
• Knowledge of networking, security, and cloud databases.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and manage scalable cloud infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain IaC using Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting for system health.
• Manage Docker and Kubernetes containerization/orchestration.
• Ensure cloud security via best practices and vulnerability assessments.
• Collaborate with developers to support infra needs.
• Troubleshoot complex infra issues to minimize downtime.
