The position supports a hybrid work model balancing office collaboration with field investigations. The ideal candidate will have 6+ years of experience, proficiency in claims systems, and a professional approach to settlements and stakeholder communication.

Qualifications

• 6+ years handling complex liability and bodily injury claims.
• In-depth knowledge of South African insurance law and procedures.
• Proven negotiation and settlement track record on high-value claims.
• Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and manage complex liability and bodily injury claims from inception to closure.
• Assess coverage, liability, and damages under relevant policies.
• Establish and review claim reserves with regular updates.
• Negotiate settlements with claimants and legal representatives.
• Appoint external service providers as needed (legal, medical, investigators).
• Prepare management reports outlining status, findings and recommendations.
• Maintain proactive communication with all stakeholders and manage expectations.
• Mentor and guide junior claims adjusters.
• Identify subrogation and recovery opportunities.
