Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee a portfolio of significant infrastructure projects in and around Centurion, Gauteng. You will lead project teams, manage scope, budget, schedule, and quality, and liaise with clients, consultants, and regulators.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, Pr Eng registration preferred, and a minimum of 10 years in civil engineering project management with large-scale budgets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• Professional registration with ECSA (Pr Eng) is highly preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in civil engineering project management, with infrastructure projects.
• Demonstrated success in managing projects with budgets exceeding R50 million.

Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of civil engineering projects, including planning, design, procurement, construction, and close-out.
• Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
• Lead and motivate project teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant engineering standards, building codes, safety regulations, and environmental legislation.
• Oversee contractor performance and manage contract administration.
• Identify and mitigate project risks, developing contingency plans as needed.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and ensure quality of work.
• Prepare and present project reports, progress updates, and financial forecasts.
• Resolve conflicts and issues that arise during the project lifecycle.
