Placements24 seeks a highly experienced Project Manager to lead major civil infrastructure projects in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal, managing the full lifecycle from planning to close-out. You will oversee multidisciplinary teams, ensure safety and quality, and liaise with clients and authorities to deliver on time and within budget.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of progressive civil infra PM experience, professional registration, and hands-on expertise with Primavera P6 and MS Project.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• Professional registration (e.g., Pr. Eng., Pr. CM) is highly preferred.
• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in project management within the civil infrastructure sector.
• Demonstrated success in managing projects exceeding R100 million in value.
• In-depth knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction methods, and project management best practices.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong understanding of South African construction and environmental regulations.
• Ability to manage complex contracts and financial aspects of projects.
• Willingness to reside in or travel frequently to Richards Bay.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of major civil infrastructure projects (e.g., roads, bridges, utilities).
• Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, health, environmental, and quality (SHEQ) standards and regulations.
• Manage project teams, including engineers, site supervisors, and subcontractors.
• Liaise effectively with clients, government authorities, and other stakeholders.
• Identify, assess, and manage project risks and issues.
• Monitor project progress, report on key performance indicators, and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Manage contract administration, including variations, claims, and payments.
• Ensure effective communication and collaboration among all project participants.
• Drive project completion, ensuring all deliverables meet specified requirements and client expectations.
