Placements24 is seeking a dynamic Project Engineer for a hybrid role in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal. You will manage civil infrastructure projects, coordinating design, procurement, and construction while leading timelines, budgets, and resources. The role blends site presence with planning and reporting from the office, requiring strong leadership and communication skills.

The ideal candidate has a civil engineering background, a Pr. Eng or Pr.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Pr. Eng or Pr. CPM designation preferred.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in project engineering and management in civil infrastructure.
• Experience with contract administration and FIDIC is a plus.
• Proficiency in MS Project or Primavera P6.
• Ability to work in a Hybrid environment with site visits and office tasks.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within Richards Bay area.

Responsibilities

• Oversee planning, execution, and completion of civil infrastructure projects (foundations, earthworks, structural components).
• Develop and manage project schedules to meet milestones.
• Control costs, track expenditures, and manage budgets.
• Coordinate with internal engineering teams, external consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
• Ensure safety regulations, quality standards, and environmental policies on site.
• Conduct site inspections to monitor progress and compliance.
• Prepare reports including progress updates, risk assessments, and financial statements.
• Manage project documentation (drawings, specifications, site instructions).
• Identify and resolve project-related issues and implement corrective actions.
• Facilitate effective communication among all project stakeholders.
