Placements24 is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join our client’s Soweto team. You will lead detailed designs for roads, stormwater, and utilities, and oversee feasibility studies and project execution.

The role requires professional registration (desirable) and 7+ years of experience in civil design. Strong communication and mentoring skills are essential for client liaison and team guidance.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Professional registration as Pr.Eng or TechniEng with ECSA is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 7 years of relevant civil engineering design and project execution experience.
• Proficiency with civil design software such as AutoCAD or Civil 3D.
• Strong knowledge of road design, stormwater, and urban infrastructure development.

Responsibilities

• Lead the detailed design of civil infrastructure projects (roads, drainage, utilities).
• Prepare drawings, specifications, calculations, and bills of quantities.
• Conduct site investigations, surveys and feasibility studies.
• Ensure designs comply with standards, bylaws, and environmental regulations.
• Collaborate with project managers, clients, contractors and consultants.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
• Assist in tender documentation and contract administration.
• Monitor construction progress and provide site support.
• Contribute to proposals and business development.
