Placements24 is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer for a respected municipal infrastructure consultancy in Soweto, Gauteng. You will lead road and stormwater design projects from concept through construction, ensuring safety, sustainability, and compliance with local standards.

Join a collaborative team, manage client liaison and project delivery, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to urban development across Soweto and the Gauteng region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
• Professional registration with ECSA as Pr. Eng. or Pr. Tech. Eng.
• Minimum 6 years of civil engineering experience with road and stormwater design.
• Experience in managing civil engineering projects, including client liaison and stakeholder engagement.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, SWMM and HEC-RAS.
• Strong knowledge of South African road design standards (SANS) and municipal requirements.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to lead a project team in Soweto.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of road networks, including alignment and traffic calming.
• Design and implement stormwater systems with culverts and detention systems.
• Conduct site investigations, prepare technical reports, and develop specs.
• Manage Civil projects from concept to construction with timelines and budgets.
• Coordinate with municipal departments and stakeholders for seamless integration.
• Prepare tender documents and assist in the procurement process.
• Provide construction phase oversight and quality control.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians.
