Placements24 seeks an experienced Lead Civil Engineer for its client in Pretoria to drive urban infrastructure design. You will lead a team of engineers and technicians, guiding site grading, road design, water and stormwater systems, and utility services to deliver sustainable urban projects.

The role requires a Pr.Eng registration, 9+ years of post-graduate civil experience, and strong leadership with client liaison abilities to ensure timely, compliant project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university is required.
• Professional registration with ECSA as a Pr.Eng is required.
• Minimum of 9 years post-graduate experience in civil engineering with urban infrastructure focus.
• Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams and projects from concept to completion.
• Proficiency in civil design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D or Civil Designer.

Responsibilities

• Lead the civil engineering design process for urban development projects including site grading, road design, stormwater management, and utility services.
• Manage project teams, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and performance oversight.
• Develop and review engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Conduct feasibility studies and site investigations to assess infrastructure requirements and constraints.
• Ensure designs comply with municipal by-laws, national standards (SANS), and environmental regulations.
• Liaise with clients and authorities to ensure project coordination and approvals.
• Oversee construction supervision for civil works and ensure quality and adherence to design.
• Contribute to business development through proposal writing and client engagement.
