Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Civil Engineer to join a consultancy serving local government in Soweto. You will contribute to design and implementation of water reticulation, sanitation, and local roads, working with municipal authorities and communities to improve public services.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering and at least 4 years of municipal/infrastructure experience, with AutoCAD and basic hydraulic modeling skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum of 4 years of municipal engineering or related infrastructure experience.
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD) and basic hydraulic modeling tools.
• Understanding of South African municipal service delivery standards and regulations.
• Experience with project management is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop plans for water supply, wastewater, and stormwater systems in urban areas.
• Prepare specifications and tender documentation for municipal projects.
• Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies for new infrastructure.
• Ensure designs comply with municipal standards and environmental regulations.
• Engage with municipalities, contractors and authorities throughout project execution.
• Provide technical support and supervision during construction.
