• Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D and water/sewer modeling software.
• Strong understanding of municipal planning processes and SA standards.

Responsabilidades

About the Role

Our client, a highly respected engineering and planning consultancy in Upington, Northern Cape , is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer with a focus on Urban Development. This role is pivotal in shaping the growth and infrastructure of communities in the region, involving the design of services such as roads, stormwater, water reticulation, and sanitation for new developments. You will lead project teams, manage client relationships, and ensure the successful delivery of projects from conception through to construction. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical expertise in urban infrastructure design, excellent project management skills, and a proven ability to navigate planning and approval processes. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of urban infrastructure services, including roads, stormwater systems, water supply, and sewerage.
• Manage project lifecycles from feasibility studies and conceptual design to detailed design and construction supervision.
• Prepare comprehensive design reports, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Coordinate with clients, local authorities, and other consultants to secure approvals and facilitate project progress.
• Conduct site investigations and assessments for new development projects.
• Ensure compliance with municipal standards, national regulations, and environmental requirements.
• Mentor and guide junior engineering staff involved in urban development projects.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
• A minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience in urban infrastructure design and project management.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA is mandatory.
• Proven experience in managing and delivering successful urban development projects.
• Proficiency in relevant design software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, water/sewer modeling software).
• Strong understanding of municipal planning processes and infrastructure standards in South Africa.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Willingness to travel within the Northern Cape region for project-related activities.
• Experience with sustainable urban drainage systems (SUDS) is a plus.
