Placements24 in Welkom is seeking a Principal Civil Engineer to lead urban development and infrastructure projects. You will guide technical direction, mentor teams, and act as main client contact, with on-site focus and occasional site visits.

You will manage complex road, drainage, water, and sewer designs for new residential and commercial areas, ensuring compliance with SA standards while driving sustainability and growth in the Free State.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering or related field required.
• Proven leadership and project management experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and planning of complex civil engineering projects including roads, drainage, water reticulation and sewer systems for urban developments.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• A Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Professional registration as a Pr. Eng. with ECSA is mandatory.
• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in civil engineering, with a significant focus on urban development and infrastructure design.
• Extensive experience with civil design software, including AutoCAD Civil 3D, or similar platforms.
• Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale civil engineering projects from conception to completion.
• In-depth knowledge of South African planning regulations, building codes, and environmental legislation.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong project management capabilities, including budget and schedule control.
• Experience in public sector liaison and approvals processes.
• Ability to work full-time in our Welkom office, with occasional site visits required.
