About the Role

Our client, a highly regarded civil engineering consultancy, is seeking an accomplished Senior Civil Engineer to enhance their expert team in Polokwane . This key position focuses on leading the design and project management of land development and associated infrastructure projects within Limpopo province. You will be instrumental in delivering comprehensive solutions for residential, commercial, and industrial developments, encompassing site grading, stormwater management, water reticulation, and sewerage systems. Key Responsibilities

Lead the planning, design, and approval processes for land development projects. Develop detailed designs for earthworks, stormwater drainage, water supply, and sanitation systems. Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documentation. Conduct site feasibility studies and assessments for new development opportunities. Coordinate with various stakeholders, including local authorities, clients, architects, and environmental consultants. Manage project execution from conceptualization through to construction completion and handover. Ensure compliance with all relevant South African National Standards (SANS) and municipal by-laws. Oversee construction supervision and quality control for infrastructure works. Mentor and guide junior engineering staff, fostering their professional development. Contribute to business development efforts, including proposal preparation and client liaison.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. Master's degree desirable. Professional registration with ECSA as a Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng). A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in civil engineering, with a strong focus on land development projects. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and hydrological/hydraulic modeling software. In-depth knowledge of stormwater management principles, water reticulation, and sewer systems design. Experience with municipal planning and approval processes in Limpopo . Strong project management skills, including budget and schedule control. Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal abilities. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. Valid driver's license and willingness to undertake site visits across the province.
