Placements24 is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer with coastal/maritime expertise to lead design and management of marine infrastructure on a fully remote basis. The role may involve projects in the East London area and along the Eastern Cape coastline.

You will apply hydraulic modeling, coastal processes knowledge, and international standards, coordinating remote teams and site clients while driving high-impact coastal resilience initiatives.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly accomplished Senior Civil Engineer with expertise in Coastal Infrastructure to join their fully remote team. While based remotely, this role will contribute to projects that may include those in the East London area and along the Eastern Cape coastline. You will be responsible for the design, planning, and oversight of marine and coastal structures, including breakwaters, seawalls, jetties, and port facilities. This position demands a deep understanding of hydraulic principles, maritime engineering, and environmental considerations, offering a unique opportunity for a remote professional to lead significant coastal development projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the conceptualization and detailed design of coastal protection structures, ports, and related marine infrastructure.
• Conduct wave and current analysis, sediment transport studies, and hydraulic modeling for coastal environments.
• Prepare comprehensive design reports, specifications, and tender documentation for marine projects.
• Provide expert technical consultation and project management support remotely to site teams and clients.

Requirements
