Placements24 is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer specializing in Coastal or Maritime Engineering to join our client in East London. You will design and manage harbors, jetties, seawalls, and offshore platforms, addressing environmental and marine conditions.

The role requires a Bachelor of Civil Engineering with at least 6 years of coastal/marine project experience, proficiency in Delft3D/ANSYS, and a Pr. Eng registration is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Civil Engineering with coastal/maritime focus or equivalent.
• 6+ years of experience in design and management of coastal/marine structures.
• Pr.Eng registration with ECSA is preferred or eligible.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze coastal and marine structures (breakwaters, docks, pipelines, foundations).
• Conduct site investigations (bathymetric surveys, geotechnical assessments).
• Prepare detailed design calculations, drawings and specifications for marine construction.
• Assess environmental impacts and develop mitigation strategies for coastal projects.
• Oversee construction activities, ensuring safety and quality compliance.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies, clients and contractors on marine projects.
