Placements24 seeks a highly skilled Remote Structural Engineer to design and oversee coastal and marine structures from a fully remote setup. You will manage complex projects safely and efficiently, ensuring compliance with codes and environmental standards while collaborating with teams across time zones.

The role requires a Master's in Structural Engineering and at least six years of coastal/marine experience; PrEng registration is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Structural Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in structural design, coastal or marine projects.
• PrEng registration is an advantage.
• Experience with SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD.Pro and CAD software.
• Strong knowledge of concrete, steel, and composite material design principles.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for coastal structures (seawalls, jetties, offshore platforms).
• Develop detailed drawings, calculations, and specifications using structural analysis software.
• Ensure designs comply with building codes, environmental regulations, and marine standards.

About the Role

You will be instrumental in ensuring the safety and resilience of developments exposed to harsh environmental conditions. As a fully remote position, you will have the autonomy to manage your workload from anywhere, while actively contributing to innovative solutions for the Western Cape's evolving coastal landscape.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for various coastal structures, including seawalls, jetties, and offshore platforms.
