About the Role

Our client is seeking a specialized Structural Civil Engineer to join their innovative team, working remotely to support exciting projects in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal . This position focuses on the structural design and analysis of marine and coastal infrastructure, including ports, jetties, and seawalls. As a remote employee, you will contribute your expertise to ensure the resilience and longevity of critical structures in challenging environments. You will collaborate closely with on-site teams and international consultants, providing essential structural engineering oversight and design solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for marine and coastal engineering projects.


• Develop detailed structural drawings, specifications, and calculations for wharves , breakwaters, and related facilities.


• Conduct site investigations and assessments remotely where feasible, providing feedback to field teams.


• Ensure designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and environmental regulations for coastal zones.


• Liaise with project managers, clients, and other engineering disciplines to coordinate structural aspects.


• Provide technical support and review during the construction phase.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.


• Minimum of 7 years of experience in structural engineering, with specific experience in coastal and marine structures .


• Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, SAP2000) and CAD platforms.


• Strong understanding of concrete, steel, and composite structural design principles.


• Experience with geotechnical considerations for foundations in marine environments.


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective remote collaboration.
