Job summary

Our client, a distinguished engineering consultancy in Upington, Northern Cape, seeks a Senior Civil Design Engineer to lead municipal infrastructure design projects. You will oversee water, wastewater, roads and stormwater works, mentor engineers, and liaise with clients and regulators to ensure successful delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Professional registration with ECSA as a Pr Eng is mandatory.
• A minimum of 10 years of post-graduate experience in civil infrastructure design.
• Extensive experience in municipal water, sanitation, and road infrastructure.
• Proficiency in Civil 3D, WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS.
• In-depth knowledge of SA municipal standards and best practices.
• Excellent project management, leadership, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of municipal civil infrastructure projects, including water, wastewater, roads, and stormwater.
• Perform detailed engineering calculations and analyses using design software.
• Prepare design reports, drawings, specifications, and tender documentation.
• Ensure designs comply with national standards, by-laws, and client requirements.
• Manage project technical aspects, including scope and coordination with other disciplines.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff.
• Review designs for accuracy and compliance.
• Liaise with municipal clients, consultants, and contractors.
• Assist in proposals and client presentations.
