Placements24 is recruiting a Civil Design Engineer for our Roads and Transport division in Vereeniging, Gauteng. You will design road networks, analyse traffic, and prepare technical specifications for infrastructure projects in the region.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering, 5+ years' road design experience, and proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, and Infraworks. Pr.Eng. registration is highly desirable, with travel to project sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Pr.Eng. registration with ECSA is desirable.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in road and transport infrastructure design.
• Proficiency in CAD and civil engineering design software.
• Knowledge of South African road design standards, traffic engineering principles, and environmental considerations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a team and manage tasks efficiently.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel for project meetings and site visits.

Responsibilities

• Design detailed plans for road networks (alignment, grading, drainage, pavement).
• Conduct traffic analysis and capacity assessments.
• Prepare technical specs, tender docs, and contract administration support.
• Use AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, InfraWorks for design and modeling.
• Perform geometric design calculations and road infrastructure analysis.
• Collaborate with urban planners, traffic engineers, and environmental consultants.
• Ensure designs comply with SANS, provincial and municipal regulations.
• Liaise with clients and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
• Conduct site visits to gather data and monitor construction progress.
• Assist in project proposals and fee estimates.
