Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Chemical Process Design Engineer for its Mossel Bay facility. You will conceptualize, design, and develop new chemical processes and modifications, delivering detailed PFDs, P&IDs, equipment specs and operating procedures to ensure safe, efficient and economically viable outcomes.

You will collaborate with project engineers and other disciplines, applying unit operation & thermodynamics knowledge, simulations, and CAD tools to optimise parameters and maintain compliance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of chemical process design experience.
• Proficient with Aspen Plus and CAD tools.
• Strong knowledge of unit operations, reaction engineering, and thermodynamics.
• Experience specifying and procuring process equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual designs for new chemical processes.
• Prepare PFDs, P&IDs, and mass/energy balances.
• Specify and design process equipment.
• Perform simulations and calculations to validate designs.
• Collaborate with project engineers to deliver integrated designs.
• Ensure compliance with safety, standards and environmental requirements in Mossel Bay.
