Job summary
Placements24 in Stellenbosch is seeking a Process Design Chemical Engineer to lead conceptualization, development, and detailed design of new and improved chemical processes and plant layouts within their facilities.
You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to translate client needs into safe, economical solutions, perform process calculations, and prepare specifications for procurement and construction.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering.
- Proficiency in process design and engineering for chemical plants.
- Experience with process safety principles and hazard identification.
Responsibilities
- Develop PFDs and P&IDs for new and existing processes.
- Perform mass and energy balances, equipment sizing, and hydraulic calculations.
- Conduct feasibility studies and conceptual design for modifications and new installations.
- Select process equipment and ensure safety standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to integrate designs.
- Prepare technical specifications and procurement/construction documentation.
