Placements24 is seeking an experienced Senior Catering Operations Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day management of catering services across multiple venues in George, Western Cape. You will lead a team, coordinate with clients and staff, and ensure top-quality food presentation and service.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to health and safety standards. Flexibility for events in the Western Cape is essential.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in catering supervision or hospitality
• Proven experience leading and managing teams in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of health and safety standards in food service
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Effective communication and problem-solving abilities
• Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and public holidays

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all catering staff during events
• Oversee setup, execution, and breakdown of catering services at various locations
• Conduct pre-event briefings with staff, assigning roles and responsibilities
• Ensure all food and beverage service standards are met, including presentation and hygiene
• Manage inventory of supplies, linens, and equipment
• Liaise with clients on-site to address needs or changes during events
• Assist in training and development of junior catering staff
• Enforce health, safety and service quality policies
• Troubleshoot operational issues during events in George
