Placements24 is seeking an experienced Senior Catering Supervisor to lead daily catering operations for events in Cape Town. You will supervise the catering team, ensure high-quality food, service, and client satisfaction while working closely with the catering manager.

The role requires at least 3 years in a supervisory catering role, strong food safety knowledge, and excellent organizational and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience in a supervisory role within catering or hospitality.
• Solid understanding of food preparation techniques, presentation standards, and health and safety regulations.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong leadership qualities and the ability to motivate a team.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct the daily activities of the catering team, ensuring efficient workflow and timely preparation and service of food.
• Conduct staff training on service standards, food safety, and hygiene protocols, fostering continuous improvement.
• Monitor inventory levels, manage stock rotation, and place orders for supplies for cost-effectiveness and minimal waste.
• Oversee setup and breakdown of catering services for events, ensuring equipment is clean and properly stored.
• Liaise with clients and event organizers to confirm details and ensure satisfaction with catering services.
• Assist the Catering Manager with menu planning, costing, and operational improvements.
