Job summary

EdUpStairs in South Africa is seeking a Senior Registered Nurse with Case Management expertise for a fully remote role coordinating patient care across diverse settings. You will work with patients, families, providers, and insurers to navigate the healthcare system and advocate for optimal outcomes.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of clinical nursing experience, including 2 years in case management, plus a current unrestricted RN license.

Qualifications

• Current and unrestricted RN license.
• Minimum of 5 years of clinical nursing with at least 2 years in case management or care coordination.
• Knowledge of healthcare regulations, insurance processes and community resources.
• Excellent assessment, planning and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with EHR and telehealth platforms.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal abilities for remote collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans with healthcare teams.
• Coordinate patient care across providers and facilities for continuity.
• Advocate for patients' needs, rights, and preferences.
• Liaise with insurers to obtain authorizations and manage coverage.
• Monitor progress, evaluate care plans, and adjust as needed.
• Educate patients and families about treatment options, resources, and discharge planning.
