Placements24 is seeking an experienced Buyer II in Vereeniging, Gauteng to support procurement for production materials and services. You will manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and drive cost savings while maintaining quality standards.

The role requires hands-on sourcing expertise and a proactive approach to continuous improvement in the supply chain. Ideal candidates have at least five years in procurement, strong negotiation skills, and proficiency with procurement software.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in a Buyer or procurement role.
• Proven track record in negotiating contracts and achieving cost savings.
• Strong understanding of procurement principles and supply chain management.

Responsibilities

• Manage procurement for assigned categories of goods and services.
• Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on criteria.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions to achieve cost savings.
• Place and manage purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery.
• Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions.
• Conduct market research on pricing trends and sourcing opportunities.
