Placements24 is recruiting a Senior Building Services Engineer to Upington, Northern Cape. You will lead the design, specification and integration of MEP systems across building projects, ensuring energy efficiency and regulatory compliance.

The role demands strong leadership, technical excellence and collaboration with architects and contractors. You will mentor junior staff, manage multiple projects, and liaise with clients to deliver high-quality engineering solutions in a dynamic consultancy

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering required.
• Professional registration with ECSA or equivalent.
• Minimum 8 years in building services engineering, focusing on MEP design.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of MEP systems for building projects.
• Prepare detailed engineering calculations, specifications and drawings.
• Ensure designs comply with building codes and energy-efficiency standards.
• Conduct site surveys, assessments and feasibility studies for building services.
• Collaborate with architects and other engineering disciplines for integrated design.
• Mentor junior engineers and design technicians.
• Oversee installation and commissioning of building services systems.
• Liaise with clients, contractors and suppliers through the project lifecycle.
• Provide technical support during construction and post-occupancy.
