Job summary

Hewitt Colenbrander Recruitment is seeking an experienced accounting professional in Ballito, KwaZulu-Natal. The role covers full accounts processing, fixed asset management, and VAT reconciliations, with exposure to UK year-end statements. You will support monthly management accounts and assist management with ad hoc tasks.

The position requires meticulous record-keeping, strong communication, and the ability to multitask under pressure in a team environment.

Qualifications

• Experience handling full accounts from source docs to trial balance.
• Maintain fixed asset registers and process monthly journals.
• Reconcile balance sheet items and perform year-end journals.
• Perform VAT reconciliations and submissions where applicable.
• Assist in monthly management accounts preparation and UK year-end work.

Job description

Technical Competencies & Experience:

1. Full accounts processing from source documents to trial balance, including cashbook, sales and purchase ledgers
2. Maintaining the fixed asset register and processing monthly journals (depreciation, wages, accruals etc.)
3. Reconciling all balance sheet items, including year-end journals
4. VAT reconciliations and submissions
5. Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts
6. Assisting with drafting UK year-end financial statements, including the profit and loss statement, balance sheet and supporting working papers
7. Ad hoc administrative duties as required by management
