Profile Personnel Ltd is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join its Finance team in South Africa. This role will handle full bookkeeping, payroll administration, statutory compliance and support the Financial Manager with timely financial information.
You will manage daily bookkeeping, month-end reconciliations, statutory returns, payroll processing and HR records, ensuring accuracy and strong internal controls.
A well-established organisation is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join its Finance team. This role will be responsible for full bookkeeping, payroll administration, statutory compliance and supporting the Financial Manager with accurate and timely financial information.
Manage daily bookkeeping activities including cashbook, petty cash, journals, payments and financial records.
Perform monthly bank, petty cash, income statement and balance sheet reconciliations and complete month-end procedures.
Prepare trial balances, financial statements, Group reporting packs and supporting schedules.
Prepare and submit statutory returns including VAT, PAYE, UIF and SDL, ensuring accurate reconciliation to the General Ledger.
Manage the full payroll process including wages, salaries, deductions, benefits, leave, bonuses, IRP5s and employee queries.
Maintain payroll and HR-related records, including attendance, leave, personnel files and supporting documentation.
Manage the fixed asset register, depreciation, additions and disposals, and reconcile to the General Ledger.
Complete inventory period-end processes and reconciliations.
Assist with year-end procedures, audits, audit queries and preparation of supporting documentation.
Provide financial and HR administration support to the Financial Manager and other departments as required.
Relevant Bookkeeping qualification with a minimum of 10 years' experience in a bookkeeping and payroll role.
Proficiency in accounting systems, Pastel Asset Register and AccSys Payroll.
Proven experience in preparing and submitting statutory returns.
Strong Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook skills, with proficiency in SARS e-Filing.
Strong understanding of payroll processes, statutory requirements and financial controls.
Experience with AccountMate accounting software would be advantageous.
Experience migrating from one accounting software system to another would be advantageous.
Proficiency in isiXhosa would be advantageous.
Excellent attention to detail, accuracy and time management.
Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and take initiative.
Strong communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.
Conscientious, adaptable and team-oriented with a strong work ethic.
