Job summary

A growing accounting firm is seeking a Senior Full-Time Bookkeeper to manage and oversee advanced bookkeeping functions. Responsibilities include maintaining financial transactions, managing a bookkeeping team, and ensuring accurate reports. The ideal candidate will have 3-4 years of experience in bookkeeping, a relevant diploma, and expertise in accounting software. The role offers office-based, remote, or hybrid work options.

Qualifications

  • At least 3-4 years in bookkeeping within an accounting practice.

Responsibilities

  • Record daily financial transactions and post them in accounting software.
  • Ensure the accuracy of the trial balance.
  • File electronic or hardcopy documents.
  • Review and issue management reports for clients.
  • Manage VAT reconciliation and submission.
  • Handle client interactions regarding bookkeeping.
  • Supervise bookkeeping team administrative tasks.
  • Review, approve, and create audit/financial statement packs.
  • Perform other ad-hoc duties as required.

Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
Ability to meet deadlines under pressure
Strong data entry and problem-solving skills
Proficient in Afrikaans

Education

Matric with good grades in mathematics/accounting
Completed Certificate or Diploma in accounting/bookkeeping
