Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Industrial Boiler Maintenance Engineer for roles in Rustenburg, North West. You will oversee safe operation, preventative maintenance, and repair projects across multiple plants, leading junior technicians as needed.

The ideal candidate has at least 6 years of boiler maintenance experience, strong knowledge of combustion, steam systems, water treatment, and safety protocols, and is willing to work shifts and be on-call for emergencies in Rustenburg.

Qualifications

Certified Boiler Operator or equivalent qualification in mechanical engineering or related field.
Minimum of 6 years of experience in maintenance and repair of industrial boilers.
Experience with boiler operation, combustion principles, and steam generation systems.
Knowledge of safety procedures including lockout/tagout and confined space entry.
Ability to read P&IDs and technical diagrams; troubleshoot mechanical and electrical controls.

Responsibilities

Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on industrial boilers.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and combustion issues.
Conduct performance testing and tune boilers for efficiency and safety.
Carry out repairs and replacements of burners, valves, pumps, and safety devices.
Monitor water treatment systems and ensure quality standards.
Supervise and guide junior technicians in Rustenburg.
Respond to emergency boiler malfunctions.
Maintain detailed records of inspections and repairs.
Interpret manuals, blueprints, and schematics for troubleshooting.
