Job summary

IgniteByte Digital (Pty) Ltd in Johannesburg, South Africa, is seeking a Senior BI Developer to lead a large BI modernisation programme. You will migrate QlikView applications to Qlik Sense, design dashboards, and transition data processing to Azure Synapse, while building scalable data models and ELT/ETL pipelines.

The role emphasizes SQL performance tuning, data governance, RLS/RBAC, and collaboration with Data Architecture teams. Hybrid/remote/work-site arrangements apply.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of BI development experience.
• Hands-on QlikView development expertise.
• Experience migrating QlikView to Qlik Sense.
• Strong Qlik scripting and QVD-based data architectures.
• ETL/ELT experience and SQL performance tuning.
• Partitioning, indexing and aggregation strategies.
• Experience with data reconciliation and validation.
• Knowledge of RBAC and Row-Level Security, governance and security practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead migration of QlikView apps, models, scripts and dashboards to Qlik Sense.
• Analyse QlikView scripts and QVD processes; define migration approaches.
• Design and develop scalable Qlik Sense dashboards with performance.
• Transition QVD data processing to Azure Synapse and pipelines.
• Develop ELT/ETL pipelines in Azure Synapse Pipelines.
• Integrate multiple enterprise data sources and design data models.
• Write complex SQL and tune performance; ensure data accuracy.
• Implement RLS and RBAC; support data governance and security.
