Placements24 is seeking an experienced Banqueting Manager for an on-site role in Sandton, Gauteng. You will lead a diverse team across weddings, conferences, and corporate events, ensuring flawless service and timely execution.

You will drive high standards in F&B service, liaise with clients and planners, manage inventory and costs, and uphold safety and licensing requirements while delivering memorable guest experiences.

Qualifikationen

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in banqueting management or a similar role in event hospitality.
• Proven ability to manage large‑scale events and diverse teams.
• Strong understanding of food and beverage service standards.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Meticulous attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Experience with event planning software and budget management.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and make sound decisions.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required by event schedules in Sandton.
• Proactive approach to problem solving and guest satisfaction.
• Passion for delivering memorable event experiences.

Aufgaben

• Manage and supervise all aspects of banqueting operations, ensuring smooth service delivery for all events.
• Lead, train, and motivate the banqueting team, including supervisors, servers, and bartenders.
• Oversee event setup, service, and breakdown, ensuring adherence to timelines and client specifications.
• Liaise with clients, event planners, and other departments to ensure all event details are communicated and executed flawlessly.
• Ensure high standards of food and beverage quality, presentation, and service.
• Manage inventory of banqueting supplies, linens, and equipment.
• Control departmental costs, including labor and supplies, to achieve budgetary targets.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, hygiene, and liquor licensing regulations.
• Conduct post-event debriefs and solicit client feedback for continuous improvement.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during events promptly and effectively.
