Placements24 is seeking a Senior Software Engineer focused on backend development to design, build, and maintain scalable systems for fintech solutions. You will work remotely in South Africa with cross-functional teams to deliver robust APIs and services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 6 years of backend development experience.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, Go, or Node.js and RESTful APIs.
• Strong database experience (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).
• Experience with cloud platforms and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with microservices patterns, CI/CD, and Git.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.
• Architect robust software solutions meeting business needs and best practices.
• Collaborate with frontend, product, and QA to implement features.
• Optimize performance, scalability, and security of applications.
• Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code and tests.
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in code reviews.
