Placements24 is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Backend) for a fully remote role within South Africa. You will design, develop, and maintain robust backend systems powering cutting-edge fintech products.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of backend experience, proficiency in Java, Python, Go, or Node.js, and expertise with RESTful APIs, microservices, and modern databases. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, agile environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of backend development experience.
• Proficiency in Java, Python, Go, or Node.js.

Responsabilités

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.
• Write clean, well-documented, maintainable code.
• Collaborate with product managers and designers on features and specs.
• Integrate frontend with server-side logic.
• Implement security and data protection measures.
• Optimize for speed, scalability, and reliability.
• Troubleshoot production issues and perform code reviews.
• Mentor junior engineers and stay updated on backend tech.
