Placements24 is seeking an accomplished Senior Software Developer to join our pioneering team, working entirely remotely from anywhere in South Africa. You will design, develop, and enhance scalable backend services and APIs for telecom applications, collaborating with a distributed team.

We value 5+ years backend experience, proficiency in Java, Python, or Go, and hands-on with microservices, containers (Docker/Kubernetes), and cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in CS or software engineering.
• 5+ years in professional software development, backend focus.
• Strong coding skills in Java, Python or Go.
• Experience with microservices, containers and cloud platforms.
• Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases; distributed systems.
• Proven ability to thrive in a remote, collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement scalable backend services and APIs.
• Write clean, maintainable code in Java, Python, or Go.
• Collaborate with product managers and engineers on specs.
• Optimize performance and ensure reliability of deployed systems.
• Participate in code reviews and uphold coding standards.
