Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Remote Senior Software Developer to join their technology team supporting Pretoria-origin operations. You will design, develop, and deploy full-stack solutions in a fully remote role across South Africa.

Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to build scalable backend services and APIs using Python, Java, Node.js, or Go, while maintaining code quality and remote-work discipline.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience in software development with backend focus.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, Node.js, or Go.
• Experience with modern front-end frameworks (React, Angular, Vue.js) is desirable.
• Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, caching, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable backend services and APIs.
• Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate UI with server-side logic.
• Write clean, maintainable code and adhere to best practices.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Troubleshoot and upgrade existing systems for performance and stability.
• Contribute to architectural discussions for new projects in Pretoria-supported operations.
