Placements24 is seeking a Senior Backend Software Developer to design, build, and maintain scalable backend services for a remote-first tech environment. You will work across the full software lifecycle, collaborating with product and frontend teams to deliver robust features.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years in backend development, strong knowledge of microservices, cloud platforms, and databases such as PostgreSQL and MongoDB.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional backend software development experience.
• Proficiency in one or more backend languages (Python, Java, Node.js, Go).
• Strong experience with relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• RESTful API design and microservices architecture knowledge.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containers (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
• Excellent problem-solving and remote collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy scalable backend services and APIs.
• Write clean, well-documented code and conduct reviews.
• Collaborate with frontend, product and other stakeholders on features.
• Optimize performance, scalability, and reliability of systems.
• Manage databases and ensure data integrity and performance.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and roadmaps.
