Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer to join a distributed technology team. The role is fully remote, offering flexibility to work from anywhere and deliver scalable server-side solutions used by thousands of users worldwide.

You will design, develop, and maintain robust APIs, optimize performance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive technical excellence while mentoring junior engineers and contributing to a culture of continuous learning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of professional backend development experience.
• Proficiency in at least one modern backend language (Python/Java/Go/Node.js).
• Solid understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and containerization with Docker.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.
• Write clean, well-tested code using modern languages and frameworks.
• Optimize performance, queries, and architecture for scalability and reliability.
• Collaborate with frontend, product managers, and stakeholders to implement features.
• Implement security and data protection measures in backend systems.
• Participate in code reviews, mentor juniors, and provide feedback.
