Placements24 is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer with strong Python expertise to join our fully remote engineering team. You will design and scale backend services and APIs, collaborating with product managers and cross-functional teams.

The role emphasizes building secure, reliable server-side applications, optimizing databases, and contributing to architecture in a distributed work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of backend software development experience focusing on Python.
• Deep understanding of Python web frameworks and ecosystems.
• Strong knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with RESTful API design and cloud/containerization is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy robust backend services and APIs using Python frameworks (Django, Flask).
• Optimize performance, database interactions, and system architecture for high availability.
• Write clean, well-documented, thoroughly tested code following best practices.
• Collaborate with frontend, product, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality features.
• Implement and manage SQL and NoSQL databases, ensuring data integrity and performance.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to architectural decisions.
