Placements24 is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our fully remote team. You will design, build, and maintain scalable server-side applications and APIs powering core products for a variety of clients.

You will collaborate with product managers, frontend engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality features. This role requires 5+ years of backend development experience and strong cloud, containerization, and database skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience in backend software development.
• Strong proficiency in backend languages such as Java, Python, Go, or Node.js, and associated frameworks.
• Solid understanding of relational and NoSQL databases, caching mechanisms, and microservices architecture.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy robust, scalable backend services and APIs.
• Optimize application performance, database queries, and system architecture for maximum speed and scalability.
• Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code, participating actively in code reviews and knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate closely with frontend developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to define and implement features.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in production environments, ensuring high availability and reliability of backend systems.
