Placements24 is seeking a Senior Automotive Systems Engineer in Randburg to lead the design, integration, and validation of complex vehicle systems across powertrain, chassis, electrical, and infotainment domains.

The ideal candidate has a strong engineering background, extensive system development experience, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams to deliver robust, standards-compliant solutions. Hybrid work arrangements are available within the Gauteng region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Automotive Engineering.
• Significant experience in automotive systems engineering with proven success in system development.
• In-depth knowledge of vehicle architecture, subsystems, and their interactions.
• Proficiency in systems engineering tools and methodologies (e.g., DOORS, SysML).
• Strong understanding of vehicle testing, validation, and integration processes.

Responsabilités

• Lead the design, development, and integration of automotive vehicle systems.
• Define system requirements, specifications, and architectures.
• Oversee validation and verification of system performance through testing and simulation.
• Collaborate with component engineers for seamless subsystem integration.
• Identify and mitigate system-level risks and issues.
• Develop and maintain system documentation, including FMEAs and test plans.
• Manage project timelines and resources for system development activities.
• Liaise with suppliers to ensure component compliance and integration feasibility.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on system engineering principles.
• Stay abreast of emerging automotive technologies and industry best practices.
• Ensure adherence to automotive standards and regulatory requirements in Randburg.
