Placements24 is seeking a Senior Automotive Mechanical Engineer for a Hybrid role in Midrand, Gauteng. You will lead the design and development of complex automotive components, perform FEA/CFD analyses, and collaborate with electrical, software, and manufacturing teams to deliver robust systems.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical Engineering with 7+ years in the automotive sector, strong CAD/CAE proficiency (CATIA, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, ANSYS/NASTRAN), and excellent

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in mechanical engineering within the automotive industry.
Proven CAD/CAE expertise with CATIA, SolidWorks, AutoCAD and ANSYS/NASTRAN.
Strong understanding of materials science, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and stress analysis.
Experience with automotive testing, validation procedures, and safety standards.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

Lead mechanical design and development of automotive components from concept to production.
Perform analyses using FEA/CFD and other simulation tools.
Collaborate with electrical, software, and manufacturing teams.
Oversee prototyping and testing phases with adherence to quality standards and timelines.
Troubleshoot technical issues in development and manufacturing.
Mentor junior engineers.
Stay updated with automotive technology advancements.
Prepare detailed documentation and presentations for stakeholders.
