Placements24 in South Africa seeks a Senior Automotive Electrical Systems Engineer to join our client in Rustenburg, North West. The role offers a hybrid setup, combining in-office collaboration with remote work and focuses on designing, developing, and validating electrical systems for new vehicle platforms.

You will work on power distribution, wiring harnesses, ECUs, and EMC testing, collaborating with mechanical, software, and manufacturing teams to ensure safety and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or related field.
• 7+ years in automotive electrical system design and development.
• Proficient with CATIA Electrical, Mentor Graphics or Zuken E3.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical system architecture for vehicle electrical systems.
• Create wiring harness designs, schematics and routing plans.
• Select automotive-grade electrical components such as connectors, relays, fuses, sensors and actuators.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.
• Perform electrical load analysis, power budgeting, and EMC testing and validation.
• Develop and execute test plans for electrical components and systems.
