Placements24 is seeking an experienced Automotive Software Architect for Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal. You will define software infrastructure for next-gen in-vehicle systems, including infotainment, ADAS, and connected services, guiding architecture decisions and technical strategy.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
• 8+ years in software development with 5+ years in automotive embedded systems.
• Proven experience defining and designing complex automotive software architectures.
• Strong C/C++, RTOS, and embedded Linux expertise.
• Knowledge of CAN/LIN/Automotive Ethernet, AUTOSAR, and ISO 26262.
• Experience with UML/SysML, cybersecurity principles, and Agile/Scrum.

Responsibilities

• Define and document overall software architecture for ECUs and in-vehicle networks.
• Design scalable software for infotainment, ADAS, telematics, and powertrain control.
• Select patterns, frameworks, and technologies to meet requirements and scalability.
• Collaborate with hardware, system, and application teams for seamless integration.
• Develop software requirements specifications, use cases, and high-level designs.
• Evaluate RTOS and middleware suitable for automotive applications.
• Ensure adherence to ISO 26262 and security best practices throughout development.
• Lead architectural reviews and mentor junior engineers.
• Stay current with AUTOSAR, DDS, and cybersecurity trends.
