Placements24 is seeking an Automotive Software Architect in Centurion, Gauteng. The role focuses on defining software architecture for next‑generation automotive systems, including embedded, cloud connectivity and user interfaces.

Leadership and a strong background in automotive software are essential. The ideal candidate will have deep embedded systems knowledge, experience with AUTOSAR, RTOS and cybersecurity, and will guide cross‑functional teams to deliver scalable, secure solutions for

Qualifications

Master's or PhD in CS/SE or equivalent experience.
10+ years in software development with automotive focus.
Familiar with AUTOSAR standards and methodologies.
Strong embedded systems, RTOS, and microcontroller knowledge.

Responsibilities

Define and document the overall software architecture for automotive applications including embedded systems, cloud connectivity and UI.
Lead the design of software components and modules, ensuring adherence to architectural principles.
Collaborate with hardware, product and software teams to translate requirements into architectures.
Evaluate and select technologies, frameworks and tools for development.
Ensure architecture supports scalability, security, reliability and performance.
Develop and maintain software design patterns and best practices.
Conduct architectural reviews and provide technical guidance to teams.
Stay updated on AUTOSAR, ADAS and V2X trends.
