Placements24 is seeking a Lead Automotive Software Developer to head embedded software initiatives in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. You will design and implement RTOS-based modules for ADAS, infotainment, and connectivity, while aligning with hardware teams and product managers to define robust requirements.

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 8 years in software development with at least 4 years in automotive embedded systems.
• Proven experience leading software teams and projects.
• Proficiency in C/C++, RTOS, and embedded systems programming.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of embedded software for automotive applications including RTOS and middleware.
• Architect and develop modules for ADAS, infotainment, and vehicle connectivity.
• Collaborate with hardware, systems, and product teams to define software requirements.
• Write clean, well-documented, testable code in C, C++, Python, and Java.
• Implement robust unit, integration, and system tests.
• Mentor and guide a team of software engineers and perform code reviews.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex defects and performance issues.
