Job summary

Placements24, on behalf of a renowned automotive manufacturing group, seeks a Senior Automotive Quality Engineer to strengthen its QA team in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. You will drive component validation, test plans, and supplier collaboration to uphold quality standards.

You will apply IATF 16949, SPC/DOE, and problem-solving tools to prevent defects, support NPD, audits, and maintain rigorous documentation.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years in automotive quality engineering with component validation.
Strong knowledge of IATF 16949 requirements.
Experience with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and 8D.
Proficiency with statistical analysis software.
Ability to read engineering drawings and specs.

Responsibilities

Develop and manage component validation plans and test procedures.
Test automotive components to ensure specs and customer requirements.
Use SPC/DOE to monitor and control product quality.
Collaborate with suppliers to address quality issues and drive actions.
Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions (8D).
Support NPD projects with quality considerations from the start.
Conduct quality audits of processes and suppliers.
Maintain quality records and documentation.
Stay updated on automotive standards and best practices.
Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and purchasing to resolve quality challenges.
